Classroom Layout
- Students will be split among six tables in the first half of the classroom. The students that will potentially need the most assistance throughout the unit are placed in the front two tables, closest to the instructor. The students at the higher level are towards the back of the classroom.
- iPads are located at an additional table towards the back of the room for students to interact with when it is their turn.
- Computers are available for the students to use on the side of the classroom. The projector, teacher’s computer, and document camera are located at the front of the classroom for students to easily view throughout the instruction.
- If books are used throughout the lesson, students will relocate to sit on the carpet at the back of the classroom.
Student Accommodations
- A paraprofessional, teacher aide, or student partner may need to be paired up with struggling or handicapped students for some of the activities and requirements of the lesson. Especially those that are done with technology.
- For students from marginalized populations, accommodations such as additional time with technology will need to be made for those students who do not have technology at home to use and practice with.
Technology Needs
- It would be great to have students in groups of 6 or 7 working on each of the technology and classroom resources throughout the lesson.
- Computers are needed in the classroom, or a visit to the computer lab may need to be scheduled.
- Class iPads are also necessary. 6-7 in the classroom would be ideal.
- A document camera and computer projection is needed in the classroom.
