I realized that I never posted any pictures from my Graduation from Grand Valley. It was such a special day and it flew by so fast! Here are a couple pictures from the afternoon. I hope you like them! - Miss B
Yesterday after school, Miss Bernhardt had to go to Grand Rapids to update her CPR and First Aid certificate. The class lasted 6 hours! It sounds like a long time, but it went by very fast. We watched a lot of videos of medical emergencies and situations we might encounter. Afterwards, we were able to practice CPR on dummies. We also teamed up with a partner to practice some First Aid techniques. That was pretty fun! At the end of the 6 hours, we took a long test. I got a 100%! I hope to never have to use my CPR and First Aid training, but if they are needed I am happy I know what to do!
Welcome to my Student Teaching Blog! I hope that this blog will help you have an insight to my daily classroom routine and environment. My goal is that my e-portfolio and blog will be a tool used frequently both by parents and students.
Today, Miss B was out of the classroom so that she could attend the Fire Up Conference being held at Grand Valley State University. This conference was for all student teachers from a number of Michigan colleges and universities. We were able to come together and network while going to different classes featuring tips and advice to prepare us for job interviews and teaching.
Each of us attended five different seminars that were taught by different professionals in the West Michigan teaching community. I loved all of the talks I went to, but really enjoyed the ones that taught me how to incorporate more technology in the classroom. One of the classes taught us how to create a blog for our classroom, so here we are!
I will be updating this as many times as I can throughout the week to share what we are doing in our class. This will also be a good spot for students to come to find resources to use at home for studying or reminders for the school week.
I hope you enjoy staying connected with our classroom. I am excited to use this tool.
After a snowy start to the semester, Miss B is finally in the routine of teaching a fantastic fourth grade class in Grand Haven. Here are some updates of what is going on in the classroom while Miss B is in charge.
