Here is your favorite video from Tuesday's Social Studies lesson. "Uncle Si" visits the bats at the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.
Today in Social Studies we learned about the Colorado River Basin and how the Southwest region does not have the water resources we have in Michigan. Here, we have plenty of fresh water and do not think much about conserving our water. In the Southwest and Western regions, water is very scarce. The Colorado River is the only water resource for people, plants, and animals. We worked very hard on writing a persuasive essay about this topic. If you are working on this at home and need to include some additional facts, here are some videos you can watch for some more information about the Colorado River Basin. Comment if you have any questions. I can't wait to read your essays! -Miss B.
Today we started three new units in the fourth grade! In math, we began working with fractions, something I know both excites and terrifies a few of you! In social studies, we are beginning our tour of the Southwest where Ms. Gedeon will be visiting next week. Perfect timing! You also had your Science Fair Projects due today. Your boards are looking pretty snazzy! We will spend a lot of time this week presenting our projects to the class to prepare for the Science Fair next week. This makes me curious... Thanks for taking my poll!
