Today, Miss B and Miss Nagy traveled to Grand Rapids to volunteer at the Michigan Reading Association Conference. This is a really important weekend for Michigan teachers, especially if they love to read books! Each day is filled with different talks about books, reading, writing, and more! Teachers from all over Michigan come for these four days of fun to learn tips about teaching and find new books to share with their students. We feel very lucky to be asked to be a part of it.
We spent most of our morning helping other attendees find their way to the big conference room so that they could check-in. We also helped make sure everyone had everything they needed in their goodie bags they received. We talked a lot about the different authors who will be visiting and speaking this weekend. One of them is Sharon M. Draper, the author of "Out of My Mind," a book I know some of you read last semester.
Miss Nagy and I both have many seminars we want to attend over the weekend. We are very excited to be a part of this conference and can't wait to share what we learn with you! When we are not at the conference, we both have a lot of homework and planning to do. Miss Nagy and I will both be teaching science this week, so we hope you are excited for that!
See you on Monday!
